CHIRP Concert Series Recycling
December 05, 2007
Beginning in May through August 2007, HBC in partnership with the organizers of a local outdoor concert series to help reduce the volume of trash generated and divert recyclables from the landfill at the weekly music shows. In conjunction with the CHIRP concert series organizers, HBC provided recycling containers to the Town of Ridgefield, Connecticut, at no cost, at Ballard Park. These containers were specialized to make it easy to collect beverage containers and other recyclables. HBC and the Town’s Solid Waste Department worked with the local Ridgefield Action Committee for the Environment (RACE) to help participants put the proper items in the proper disposal containers. Each week, Hudson Baylor received and sorted recyclables at the Ridgefield Recycling Center from the 12 containers filled during each of the 15 evening concerts in the park.
