Hudson Baylor Helps NYC Explore Recyling Options
December 01, 2002
Scott Tenney, president of Hudson Baylor, and Steve Hastings, Vice President, joined other recycling experts at the "Roundtable on the Future of Recycling in New York City." The symposium was designed "to explore in a serious and substantive manner the range of policy and program options for restoring and expanding residential recycling in New York City."
New York City suspended plastic and glass recyclable collections during the summer of 2002 due to budget constraints and the cost of continuing this service. Messrs. Tenney and Hastings were invited to contribute their industry knowledge and expertise to the discussions of the economics of the recycling industry, and how to effectively restore residential recycling services to the City.
The Roundtable was sponsored by The Citywide Recycling Advisory Board (the CRAB), in collaboration with the Center for Economic and Environmental Partnership, Inc. (CEEP). This two-day, invitation-only event brought together a wide range of recycling and solid waste industry experts to consider program options for the restoration of recycling of plastics and glass in New York City, and expanding existing recycling efforts.
