Hudson Baylor Wins Dutchess Bid
January 20, 2004
Hudson Baylor is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the contract to operate the Dutchess County Materials Recovery Facility ("MRF") on behalf of the Dutchess County Resource Recovery Agency ("DCRRA"). The facility, located at 51 Fulton St. in Poughkeepsie, NY, processes recyclable newspaper, cardboard, and commingled bottles and cans from across the Hudson Valley region. DCRRA put out a request for proposals to operate the MRF in the fall of 2003, and the Agency selected Hudson Baylor from a number of regional and national respondents. Lou Rea, Deputy Executive Director of the DCRRA, indicated that Hudson Baylor's recycling expertise, knowledge of the facility and the processing system in place there, and the Company's strong local presence, all contributed to the firm's selection. Hudson Baylor and the Agency are currently negotiating a multi-year operating contract for the facility. Since January 1, 2004 Hudson Baylor has staffed and operated the facility.
