June 11, 2006
On September 12th, the Hudson Baylor Corporation received an Environmental Investment Program (EIP) incentive award from Empire State Development (ESD) for increasing the processing capacity for paper and cardboard recycling. Hudson Baylor (HBC), The Recycling Professionals, specialize in handling, processing, and providing transportation solutions for commercial and municipal clients in need of a recycling partner. HBC processes over 300,00 tons of recyclable paper, metals, plastic and glass annually, and has operational facilities in New York, Connecticut, and Arizona. The corporation sought assistance in applying for the EIP award from HVTDC (www.hvtdc.org) in Fishkill, a non-profit business and technology resource center that works directly with small and mid-sized manufacturers, technology-based companies, inventors, entrepreneurs and other businesses throughout the region. HVTDC specializes in helping companies discover ways to increase their profits by examining and improving their day-to-day operations. For companies such as Hudson Baylor, those
improvements and profits will be experienced through the increase in their capacities for processing recyclable materials. HVTDC is well-known for also providing workforce training programs and initiatives in Lean Operations, Value Stream Mapping, Setup Reduction, Supervisory and Leadership Skills, Customer Service and Sales Training.
The Empire State Development’s EIP incentive award that HBC received is designed to encourage companies to proceed with their ambitions within New York State. Christine Sculti, ESD Regional Director wrote, “Hudson Baylor will add the latest processing systems to their existing systems in an effort to increase the recycling capacity of corrugated cardboard containers, newspapers and high grade paper. Their ambition is to also increase annual sales revenue and their staff over the course of the project while improving the internal site logistics and traffic flow. The growth and prosperity of Hudson Baylor Corporation is a top priority for Empire State Development. We value the opportunity to encourage this project, and we are looking forward to working with Hudson Baylor to bring their vision to fruition.”
