Plastics

Finding a way to recycle more plastics is a high priority for protecting the environment. While paper breaks down fairly quickly and glass, under enough pressure, will disintegrate into sand-like components, plastic does not decompose as easily. Recycling plastics has a long-lasting impact on landfills.

Hudson Baylor recycles several types of plastics, principally "PET" (Polyethylene Terephthalate) and "HDPE" (High Density Polyethylene), which are the most commonly recycled types of plastic used in the US. Examples of PET bottles are clear and green soda bottles. HDPE are most familiar as milk bottles (cloudy grey/white in color) or detergent bottles.
